Which LEDs is the FX2 nano USB-C designed for?

The controller operates with constant voltage at 5V. It is a perfect match for 5V LED strips and the 5V modules from the GKORE CINE Series, such as the BAR2x3CCT 5V. For 12 or 24V setups, the FX2 nano 2 (CT0033) is the better choice.

How does this LED effect controller differ from the FX1 nano?

The FX1 nano has only one channel with up to 4A. The FX2 nano USB-C has two channels at 2A each – so the same total output, but split across two outputs. If you want to control two independent light sources (e.g. warm white + cool white for CCT mixing), this controller is the right choice.

What does 30kHz PWM frequency mean in practice?

30kHz is far above the frequencies that appear as flickering in camera recordings. You can film in slow motion, work with high frame rates and have no banding artefacts. This is a basic requirement for professional video work.

Can I customise the effects myself?

Yes. The complete firmware is available as open source on GitHub. With embedded development knowledge (C/C++) you can program custom effects, sequences or control logic.

What is the trigger input for?

It allows you to switch the LED output from outside – via button, sensor or microcontroller. Useful e.g. for props that should only light up at the push of a button, or for effects that start at a specific point in the setup.

Are 2A per channel really enough?

For small to medium LED setups yes. A typical 5V LED strip draws 0.5–1A per metre, so 2A is sufficient for several metres of strip or several modules connected in parallel. For larger setups with 12 or 24V and 4A/channel, the FX2 nano 2 (CT0033) is suitable.

Which LED modules are a particularly good match?
