Product information "GKORE FX1 nano 1ch LED Controller Effect Engine USB-C"
High-quality light effects with our 1-channel LED effect generator!
This small and powerful controller with USB-C 5V connection gives you the ability to
control LED strips and LED modules with constant voltage and up to 4 A per channel
flicker-free and precisely – thanks to 30 kHz PWM, high 10-bit dimming resolution and
two potentiometers. Ideal for smaller LED applications, our generator already includes
pre-installed effects that can be easily selected via the DIP switch. The additional
trigger input activates the LED output when needed.
5 pre-installed effects and dimming functions:
- CCT dimming
- Candle effect
- Blink 50/50
- Fade IN/OUT
- 2-channel dimming
And the best part: We provide the firmware as open source under the MIT licence.
This means you can create and use your own individual effects.

Frequently Asked Questions
The 30 kHz PWM frequency is far above what cameras would capture as flickering. In video and film recording, this prevents banding artefacts and visible flickering, especially at higher frame rates (slow motion). For the human eye, PWM below approx. 200 Hz is often visible – 30 kHz is completely safe.
The FX1 nano operates with constant voltage. It is therefore ideal for 5 V LED strips and compatible LED modules with built-in series resistors. LEDs that require constant current are not directly compatible.
Via the DIP switch on the board. Activate one of the five pre-installed effects – fine-tune with the potentiometers (speed, intensity). The controller is ready for operation immediately after applying USB-C power.
The complete firmware is available under the MIT licence on GitHub (graflichttechnik). You can program custom effects, modify existing ones or repurpose the controller entirely – e.g. for your own project. Knowledge of C/C++ and embedded development is an advantage.
It allows you to trigger the LED output externally – for example via button, light barrier, motion detector or microcontroller GPIO. Useful for stage effects, props or interactive installations.
If you need two channels for CCT mixing (warm white + cool white) or other 2-colour setups, there is the FX2 nano 2ch USB-C (CT0032) or, with external 12–24 V supply and 4 A per channel, the FX2 nano 2 (CT0033).
The FX1 nano works particularly well with the 5 V modules of the GKORE CINE Series, for example the BAR2x3 CCT 5V or other modules from the LED Modules category.
