Why does this LED have 2V instead of 3V forward voltage?
Red LEDs based on AlGaInP have a lower bandgap energy than blue/green LEDs based on GaN,
resulting in a lower forward voltage (~2 V). This is important for series connections: red LEDs
have a significantly lower forward voltage than blue or green ones, which must be taken into
account in mixed circuit designs.
