DMX512 is the standard for professional lighting control, and RDM (Remote Device Management) extends this standard with the ability to read out and change addresses, settings and device status over the same DMX cable, with no separate control line and no need to stand next to the device.

With 16 bit resolution per channel, the DIM6 RDM dims extremely finely and smoothly. Even during very slow fades and at low brightness, a clear advantage over simpler 8-bit dimmers, where visible brightness steps quickly become noticeable.

The PWM frequency can be freely set in 27 steps between 1 kHz and 30 kHz. PWM (pulse width modulation) is the technique that makes LED dimming possible in the first place: the light is switched on and off very rapidly, and the eye perceives only the average brightness. A PWM frequency set too low can show up as flicker or banding on camera. The DIM6 RDM can therefore be tuned for flicker-free operation for broadcast and film production, while also being more comfortable to the naked eye at low brightness levels.

Four selectable dimming curves (linear, exponential, logarithmic, S curve) adjust the brightness response during dimming as needed.

The DIM6 RDM is also prepared for edge cases: in the event of DMX signal loss, it can be configured to hold the last value, cut to black immediately, or fade out gently after a delay. This matters for professional installations, and it is just as practical for hobby setups, for example if the controller drops out or a cable comes loose.

A status LED on the unit itself shows immediately whether a valid DMX signal is present, which makes troubleshooting during first setup much easier.

The GKORE DIM6 RDM complies with ANSI E1.20 (RDM) and E1.37-1, allowing it to run reliably alongside devices from other manufacturers such as ARRI, Aputure or LiteGear in the same setup, whether in a professional rig or a home hobby build.

The terminal blocks are not included in the scope of delivery and should be ordered separately if needed.
